Hello,

I have a problem with nightlighting in bat.

The day version of the model renders ok:

However the nightversion is not ok:

It looks like only a part of the nightmodel has been rendered. I haven't got a clue why. Any ideas?

Really strange! Do you have objects named "nitewindow..." ?

rjaap

No, I don't have any. It gets even weirder. When I leave out the nitelite prefix and render the bat it lights out and renders the model ok.  ()what()

Your scene file maybe have been corrupted (as a result of editing). Try this:
- Backup your scene file (make a copy).
- Open gmax. In the new (empty) scene put a new Omni (or any other type) light, and then delete it. This should create the yellow ray lines.
- In the menu select File->Merge and select your scene.
- In the list displayed select all objects except "TB2CameraHandle" and click OK. This will import all objects.
- Save the file under another, or even the same filename (overwrite - you have created a backup, haven't you?).

This will "cleanup" your scene, eg remove the material views created while exporting, and fix aother problems too, like materials getting lost in exported models (looking white). I do so every time I'm about to export a large BAT. The procedure takes 1-2 minutes, while problems in the exported model would require exporting the model again.

If this doesn't fix the problem, send me the exported model and the BAT (along with its textures) to take a look (my email is public),
