hey i dont know if this is the right topic to ask this but
i have a small issue wich i have a hard time to figure out (if its even possible what i want)

here's a picture wich i may be able to explain what i mean

as you can see the model is 2x1 tiles wide.
but the base is one tile wide.

is 't possible to get this model on a 1x1 tile?

i already tryed modeling the  parameters in Gmax but that didnt had any effect.

The property to change is Occupant Size, and that is found within the Desc.  You will need Reader or X-tool to do it.  I believe the width has to be 16 or less.

If your Lot was already made then you could change that width to 1 as well.  Just make sure the OS really fits on one tile or you will make an immortal lot.

thanks man it atleast worked!
but now something else
i think this what you warned me for but i dont understand how to fix this
it now looks like this

as you can see the model is in the right screen on the top left corner
and on the right screen its not centerd but somewhat of center.
and thats offcourse not the way i want it! but i can't figure it out. i tryed multiple things but its still a big puzzle hehe

It doesn't really matter where the blue square shows up in the lot editor, as long as the actual prop is in place. Nightlights can be an issue if the prop is too close to the lot borders, but I figure those power poles (which look nice, BTW) don't have any lights. ;) Props can overhang the lot borders by up to 50% without any problems, but buildings (grey square or rectangle) have to be kept inside the borders, otherwise, the immortal lot syndrome will occur. It's best to check the size one more time in the Lot Editor without any further lot editing after changing the occupant size, otherwise the LE might reset the size, causing said immortal lot syndrome.

hmm im starting to get a bit confused over here!
so if im  getting it correctly the thing you say is that the prop can overhang(you mean with this that the higher part or the 'wide' part of the pylon is overhanging the 1x1 lot(how do you this then? this would solve the problem i think) by 50%  but it can't get out of the grey texture base..

but when i open the lot editor without doing anything it looked like this:

as you can see the model doesnt start centert but way of..
sorry if im confusing even more things but its all pretty new for me this stuff  &ops

and good that you like it  :)

Is your original gMax model centered? That might cause the problem...
Lurk mode: ACTIVE

That is indeed your problem. ;) Your model is rendered offset.
You can see that already from this image of yours:

The centre is where the three coordinate axes (red, blue and green) meet.
They should meet right in the middle under the pole.

Thus, you need to centre your model in gmax and rerender.

The OS should be set to a maximum of 15.5-15.5-15.5 in order to sit on a 1x1 lot.  It looks like you set the OS to 1-1-1, which is totally okay, but I think you run into issues with trying to query it.  The last of the three digits is the height, and so if that is set too high then you wont be able to query things that are directly above it.  I think the OS should fit tightly around the base of the power pole.

What I meant to say was that if you already had a lot that was 2x1 you could bring it down to 1x1 after you changed the OS to something that would fit on a 1x1 lot.

To explain the difference between a prop and a building:  You have your model file.  The next step is a .desc.  .descs can be buildings or props (flora as well).  When you make something a building (dragging it to the power section) it will be inherent to the lot, and appear as a blue square as you have done.  When you make something a prop it will be available to be placed on a Lot (that has something else as a building) as a yellow square.   It is best to have the focal point of the lot be the building to avoid confusion.  There are blank models you can use as the building (found in Other Models), but if they can be avoided then they should be (in my opinion).

Buildings must have their blue square resting entirely on the lot.  If the blue square is off of the lot you will make an immortal lot.  Props can be placed anywhere that the yellow square is at least %50 on the lot.  Fortunately PIMX will force you to follow these rules.

thanks for the explanation lowkee :)
its all clear now!
and  maarten thanks for the solution!

back to work again!  ;D
