all of a sudden game lagging terribly

I have not added any plug ins or anything although i have 10 new regions... since i last played Sim City 4, and my computer used to run SC4 very well... I've never had ANY lagging in fact it ran really fast on my computer... but today i ran SC4 four times already... and it is lagging VERY badly, it is so slow that i can hardly play the game... none of my Hardware or anything has changed but it is like my computer no longer can run SC4 (like it my computer doesn't meet minimum anymore) I haven't changed anything with the NAM or anything... it still 0 for the cars setting that i talked about earlier... what all of a sudden happened... why won't SC4 run properly anymore, what is making it lag... like i said nothing has changed except the 10 new regions, but i doubt that is the cause.

If you didn't change anything, all I can think about you updated your GPU drivers. change them back and try again.

Or is your system running some sort of scan or other process in the background?

This has happened to me before aswell.  I'm assuming it was either because Norton was running a full system scan which is known to kill the computers speed, or Windows was installing updates.  I never found out for sure, I got frustrated and stopped playing for the day.  The next time I opened Sim City all was back to normal. I hope this is the same case for you.
