Hello friends,
I currently am a bit too busy with work to create new mods and bats, so I decided to spend the time that I have to clean up and dat pack my plugins folder.
I have currently a plugins folder with my favorite buildings only.
I noticed however that about half of these are campatible and half of them are not.
I am not particularly looking forward in remodding any of the lots, not to cam them neither to de-cam them.

Do campatible lots actually grow without cam installed?

Any further advise on to use or not to use cam?

If the growth stages are valid for the non-CAM base game, they will be available to grow.  They might grow like weeds if the capacity sizing is significantly off...but those are easy to deal with when you find them.

In other words, R & C need to be stage 8 or lower, and I has to be stage 5 (I think) or lower.

In general "campatible" means modding that will work better with or without CAM because the modding has been done with PIM-X according to pretty thoroughly researched standards. I believe there is some difference between the CAM standards and the Maxis standards around stage 8 and to a lesser extent 7 but that would just make those CAMpatible lots less likely to grow than non-campatibles.

As for CAM, I would strongly recommend using it. You won't end up with excessive amounts of tall buildings if you don't zone for them and while it may make growing agriculture a little more difficult I don't think the difference is dramatic. Personally I regret waiting so long to install CAM and wouldn't play without it again.

APSMS

I did the fix, and have noticed that my cities still have around the same (if not more) jobs as residents. I also have the 5% fixes (for R$$$ Sims in I-D, CS$, and CO$); do these need to be DATPacked as well? Also, does the NHP Cam Essentials file do anything? I'd like to fix this problem before my region grows much larger (I know this is slightly hijacking, but while we're here...)
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
