Problems with the File Exchange

Dear all,

Long time no see guys!. I returned to SC4. The game is just too great not to play. I lost all of my plugins some years ago which was one of the reasons that I quitted SC4. With a new PC I thought let's download all the stuff again. I have to say that there is A LOT of stuff online downloadable. A good deal of the best stuff is on this site. Since I started downloading I've met with some problems. First of all why is it that you can't put some of the files on the ''download list''? The button isn't there so when I click on the file to download it it works but when I go back to the list I have to scroll down all the way again to get to the point where I've left. Another problem is that I can't get to the download list because apparently you need to login 2 times to get to the exchange, one time when you enter the website and another when you enter the exchange. Why is this? Ofcourse it wouldn't be a problem to log in 2 times if it wasn't for the fact that the site doesn't let me in, nor accepts my passwords sometimes. There is also a different password for both logins required. I also can't change the password for some reason. When I'm finally in I go to download list and then the site asks once again for a password and username. When I type in the right names the screen just pops up again and I have to fill it in again (in other words; the site doesn't accept the username and pass) In the end I can't download anything. These words may sound confusing, well I am confused    Hoping for some help.

You cannot add files that you already downloaded to the download list. At least, that's how it used to function before I redid the exchange. I presumed it was to make sure people don't "accidentally" download a file twice, so I kept the same mechanics in place. It might be a good idea to change it so that everything can be added though.

As for the separate logins, that's because the forums and the LEX were developed independently. While we would like to integrate the logins at some point, it would be a lot of work to integrate them (on both sides). Make sure you are using an up to date browser (IE10+, latest Firefox/Chrome/Safari) to browse the LEX, it uses some advanced features that may cause problems on old browsers (for example with logged in status).

Merging accounts from LEX and forum is an old dream  Hope one day it would be feasible 

Speaking about LEX I believe that LEX access from the forum is a little bit hidden even with the panel added on the right side with LEX spotlight (which are not always working properly - no picture showing)

Would it not be a good idea to design a host page with only 2 clear icons: LEX and FORUM?

I believe the File Exchange image (top right of the header) is hyperlinked and will take you to the main page of the LEX when you click on it.

Thanks for your replies guys. I assume that the reason why I can't put these files on the download list is because I downloaded those files years ago and my account is still the same.

If you want, you can go to http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_downhist.php (while logged in) and manually remove old downloads from your history (or even remove your entire download history). That way, every single file should be "download-listable"
