So im trying to install the NAM mod but need the 638 update, i download the update and put the updater in the SC4 folder and i open it and it shows "Missing or Invalid Registry/INI Entry", then i press ok, it "updates" and it says its done, but really i check the files it didn't even change/update , help?

You will find the update in Official Maxis Files in the menu on your left hand side.

Are you by chance trying to run a No CD crack?  That would explain the missing registry entry error and the NAM installer's behavior.  There is no way to install the NAM properly without a legitimate, retail copy of the game (with the exception of retail copies purchased from Origin, which are unpatched and unpatchable).
