Hi all,

I could use some help with the following:

How can I get rid of the grass near the road?

The fillers I use are just open grass area lots, but then with a different base texture, using LE.

Thanks,
Pat

Instead of using an in-game park lot (like the open grass or open paved area), use the pedmalls included in NAM,
and you should get paved diagonal fillers as seen to the right in this picture:

@ Ripplejet,

I've tried that, but I want the concrete base texture as you can see on the picture, and I can't cahnge the basetexture of pedmalls in the NAM, I think....

Alternatively, you could try the strategy that Dustin (thundercrack83) used [linkie] in a very similar situation, in his excellent MD known as Commonwealth of Marathon.  Unfortunately, it doesn't get rid of the grass, but IMHO it does make it look so much better.  It does require the use of the SFBT Diagonal Fillers, downloadable from the LEX.
Find my power line BAT thread here.
Check out the Noro Cooperative.  What are you waiting for?  It even has electricity.

Here are some rural power lines.

You can also try to zone e.g. a commercial zone across the diagonal road while keeping the Ctrl button down.
That will create kind of invisible zones, which affect the sidewalk texture and will convey electricity, but will not allow anything to grow.

There is also a way to conceal the flowers and the grass using a BAT model.  (You use a 2d model and 3d LODs.)  But I am not sure it is the answer you are looking for.

Using the LE, you can extend the texture underneath the road using the Lot Resizing trick.

1. When plopping the lot, make sure the directional arrow points towards the road. Save your game and quit out.

2. Open the lot in the LE. Now extend the lot down by one (or two if you want the texture to fill the other side of the diagonal road). Use the same base texture
    as before.

3. If you download yoder7652's Osturland Chancellory, you'll get the euro road diagonal overlay texture. Place this on the extended part of the lot (properly
oriented). Click the save button, not save as. Exit the LE.

4. Return to your city and if done correctly, it should have your texture appearing underneath the diagonal road!

If you need more help on this, check out the tutorial I made using this technique. Just follow the links in my signature. Let us know how everything goes!
