Hi all,   Is there a "trick" to get these lights to work? Whenever I have tried, either on a lamppost or in a tower or whatever, the front view looks fine.  But the two side views have the lights hanging in the air.  If I adjust them to look correct the light hangs in the air in the other views.  Am I doing something wrong and if so what might that be?  Thanks   Steve

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to use a custom street light mod, or are you trying to make your own street light? We need some more details as to what you are trying to do. The more information you provide, the better the answers will be.

I read in another post that someone used light cones to light a tower to give the appearance of nightlighting.  So I thought I would try.  Having come upon these cones I just started to fool around with regular light posts to brighten their light and couldn't get it to work.  At least two out of the four sides have the light off the light post and just hanging in air.  I tried again with the Gothic Tower and had the same problem.  Looking at the tower face on looks ok.  But from the other three sides two were in the air and the other couldn't be seen at all.  I was trying to make the light appear as though the light was from the inside of the tower on different levels. I would show a pic but I don't know how to show one of mine, just the ones on the different sites.   Steve

Steve,

To show your own pictures, you will need an image hosting site such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket. Both are completely free to use. All you need is just an email address to register with them. Once you are registered, you simply just upload the photos from your computer to their site. For best results, make sure your images are in JPG format. Internet Explorer users are unable to view PNG files properly.

The light cones are a conical shaped model with a texture on them. To brighten the lights, you would have to edit the FSH images that are used on them. The streetlights are setup in a special way to make them work. They use the "Resource Key Type 4" property to reference both the streetlight model and its light cone for nighttime use. There are also special properties in the prop exemplars for them to function properly.

How are you trying to use the light cones? Please be detailed as possible if you aren't going to use images to show us what you are doing. I'll be back online later....
