K, i have been playing Sim City 4 for years and just got into adding mods to it and stuff.  I got the NAM and am loving it but i want to start getting growable commercial buildings but the dependencies are texture packs and such.  Any ways i am just wondering what are these texture packs ie; what do they do?  I have already downloaded several and installed into my game but saw no changes in my city when i returned to the game.  And because i don't know what they do i'm unsure if the downloads worked or not.

@MattyFo,
Some lots(buildings) will use some custom textures, not game's original textures.
If you have these lots without any texture pack what they need ,you'll see there are some tiles look like the background on the ground of these lots.(Some are white.)
So the texture packs are very IMPORTANT!!!

If you want to see the change after installed texture packs, you can download LotEditor and check the texture list in it.

2010.8.4 - I get on SC4D with PSP. So cool.:D
2010.8.14 - I can get on the Internet at home.:)

So you won't see any difference in the game until you've downloaded some custom BATs and other lots that need textures that weren't originally included in the game.

Hope this helps clear up your confusion. :)
