to cut to the chase: i want to try two more "quick-fix" / "workaround" things to see if it helps me get past the problem i'm having:

- certain custom content not growing on some undeveloped maps in my currently rural region, while they happily grew immediately in previously undeveloped maps.

- certain custom content not growing on undeveloped maps in my region, while they will happily grow in a more fully developed and populated map.

i've already tried using RadicalOne's demand mod to max out demand and get past any demand caps which may push demand down, but while it makes development unstoppable - there is still certain content which will not grow on many maps while they will grow on others, without any obvious reason for why.

i've tried looking but haven't found anything already out there, but what i'm wondering is if someone (or maybe do it myself) can create a couple of things:

1) a Lot or a mod which will max out (or as close as is possible) all desirabilities. i found this old mod/Lot by Dexter which has a massive or highest possible impact on desirability over a widest range possible within a map. i want something like this but for all developer types and wealth levels - or, at leaat all residential wealth levels as that is where i'm having problems right now.

2) a mod alike Toroca's "stage caps mod", but instead of files for reducing Commercial stage caps and increasing Residential stage caps to try and correct the 'downtown hole' problem of the game... i want it to reduce all stage caps (or at least, all Residential caps) as much as is possible.

any ideas? offers of help? or feedback on this?

maybe i'm wasting my time thinking these changes will make any difference but these problems are really killing my drive to play as i can't get a lot of things to grow which are essential for continuing my ideal vision for the region in its rural infancy...

i may have found what i am looking for in this mod:

i'll try it out when i can and if it does the trick (whether or not it cures my problems is another matter...), then i guess this thread can be deleted.  ::) we'll see...

this thread is defunct. the rci multi mod does provide both abilities to manipulate demand and desirability, stomps over the relevant caps, amongst other things...

but it didn't provide anything related to growth stage/caps. after looking at toroca's stage cap modifier with ilive's reader and his spreadsheet file that is packaged with the mod, i finally understood how those growth stages work, and realised that my 'request' in this thread was not exactly possible.

so, instead i tried making some changes to his residentialcaps file in order to just make buildings of certain stage groups more likely to grow within a region of any population. sadly this did not have the desired effect so i decided to try something else completely by simply altering the growth stage of those Lots which won't grow on certain maps using the Reader. i changed the growth stage to "1" as it seems that those buildings were still growing on any map. lo and behold, those modified Lots started growing too!

so.. this thread can be deleted i guess.  &Thk/( ::)
