Hi, I used the ilive reader to enable name changes for custom civic lots in game and cannot remember what to change.  Does anyone know who to enable name changes for lots in game?  It kinda stinks when I have to rename George Washington Elementary each time I load a city.

Thanks

Andreas

This always occurs when a building is using an "Item Name" property rather than an LTEXT file that is associated to the building exemplar file. The safest way to do so is probably using SC4PIM, as it has a special feature for converting the Item Name into an LTEXT file. Please refer to the user guide on how to do the conversion.

I'm not too familiar with the SC4PIM yet, but I do remember how to do this using the Reader:

1. Open the Reader and open the lot you wish to edit.

2. Click on the Fill the List button on the right.

3. Click on the Exemplar File.

4. On the right hand side, locate and double-click on the User Visible Name Key.

5. Change the three values to 0. Click apply.

6. Double-click on Exemplar Name. Change the name to whatever you wish and click apply.

7. Click the save button on the toolbar and exit. Now when you plop the lot in-game, your new name will show.

Let us know if it worked!
