Lane Shift Question

Hi all,
I'm not sure what this means and hopefully the pictures will help. I noticed that there was no highway traffic on one section containing a lane shift. Seemed like there should have been. I also noticed that all the traffic was running up to the intersection just before the shift but instead of following straight through, turning left or looping back on the parallel highway.

I then set up a test on another map. The results follow;

This shows traffic flow with normal parallel highway. Nothing going out is probably not unusual as there is not much in this test area but a whole city where the traffic is coming from. Now I added the Lane Shift pieces on the inbound traffic side;

Strange thing is traffic stopped coming in on that inbound section but started using the outbound lane that previously had no traffic.Then I created the opposite Lane Shift,

Now the traffic once again began to use the inbound lanes as it did originally. Is it the way I am using the piece? Is it possible that the Lane Shift is not allowing traffic to pass? Is it just a game anomaly?
Thanks for your help/time,

samerton

Use the 'Draw Path' cheat from the Extra Cheats Plugin (if you haven't got it already, search the LEX for it). Activate it and post a picture with it. It will show the paths of the automata and will tell us if the traffic can pass through, or if you have a faulty version.

Wow!   That solved the problem!  I did not have that "Extra Cheat"  and with it I found the RHW Bridge after that Lane Shift piece was actually in the reverse direction! I remember having a problem getting the bridge to build (it's a side by side) on that section and may have done it in some strange order that caused that reverse problem. At any rate, I changed the bridge, traffic was rolling! I'm not sure about the test I did with the section of highway but it doesn't matter now. The piece works, the traffic is moving, the Sims are once again happy!  Thank you!
