Welcome to SC4D.

Hope you enjoy your time here

As for your problem:

You need to have the BSC Essentials  installed to have the query show correctly.

You can get the latest one here

Hope this helps a bit

Thanks for the quick response.

I'm also having massive stability issues. My game crashes every 15 mins or so. Any ideas as to how i can improve this?

Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I have never used cleanitol? I downloaded every model and dependency I could find!

Hey knobend

I don't get too many CTD's. Once every 6 months or so. But I usually cause mine when I start clicking on things too fast.

I'm not an expert on CTD's but I'd like to know what you've tried? One of the first things that I'd do on my computer would be to change some of the detail settings. Have fewer cars driving around and about so the CPU doesn't have to work as hard - unselect the clouds and waves in the water. Also - what are you doing when it happens? Just sitting there watching - doing nothing? Or saving the game? Using a NAM puzzle piece? Does it happen when you start a new city and it's small... or only when you're working on a big huge city?

Since you mention the CAM ... have you checked out the 'conflicting mods' thread?

Computers can be temperamental things too. Maybe a video card update has created a problem?

Good Luck.

Thanks for the suggestions.  So far it only happens when i'm running a relatively small city and it can happen at pretty much any time. I'll try changing some of the detail settings and see if that helps.

I've basically downloaded and installed every files from here and i've never used cleanitol (don't really understand what it does or why it is necessary). Do you think that could be the cause of my problem?

Hey knobend

Quotedon't really understand what it does or why it is necessary

The origins of Cleanitall - years ago a lot of people made very tall buildings and uploaded them to Simtropolis. No matter how tall it was it usually grew as a stage 8 building. The CAM came out 2 years ago and made extra growth stages. All of those tall buildings can now grow at stage 9 or 10 or 14, etc. The problem was that many people had those buildings and lots in their plugin folder and they will still grow as a stage 8. So Cleanitall arrived on the scene.

Let's say that I download some CAMeLOTS. Cleanitall can be used to locate and remove the outdated stage 8 lots from the plugins folder but it will leave the building model alone so you will not get brown boxes. Usually the person who has upconverted an older building to a CAMeLOT will include a text file. This text file, when used within the Cleanitall program is what does the search and removal automatically.

Another instance is when I once created a bunch of props and farm buildings over time. I soon realized that these props were scattered all over my plugin folder. So I bundled them together into a single DAT file. The reason is so that the game loads faster. But it would be too difficult for the average person to search for 50 files scattered around their plugin folder. So a TXT file was made and when used with Cleanitall made the removal of all those individual outdated files as simple as a mouse click.

Cleanitall does not delete the files. It simply moves them to a different location and there is a batch file included that allows one to 'undo' it.

It was soon discovered that this was a good search tool. So some cleanitall files were made to let people know what dependencies they have or do not have. It also moves unnecessary files that may accidentally find their way into your plugins ... things like readme or jpg files.

QuoteI downloaded every model and dependency I could find!

I don't see how using cleanitall will help your situation. But my question is 'why did you download every dependency?' ... I usually don't download dependencies unless I have a lot that requires it. Example: there is no sense to have seaport dependencies if one doesn't use BSC seaports. I don't usually make military bases in my cities so I don't have any military dependencies.

@knobend

1 possible reason could be you overloaded your game with plugins that go beyond the computers capabilities, game runs out of recources while playing CTD. First try lowring the # of plugins in your plugins folder, specially files that you are not using, run the game see if this helps.

Downloading every possible file and dropping into your game is a big no no, cause some of the files, specially the mods, can conflict with each other and may notbe apparent til one or both of the mods kick in to play

If your using the CAM try this thread:

Though it only happening in small cities is strange.
