I've got a pretty powerful laptop, and I'm well aware that SC4 was made for the computers of 2003, not 2010, so issues are certain to arise.

My computer stats are:

AMD PhemonII x4 ... don't know clock speed

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 - screen resolution 1366x768

4gb RAM

Windows 7 x64
I've had a bunch of partially complete SC4 mods sitting on my older computer for a while. I recently switched computers, and transferred the data so that I could get those mods complete. Lately I haven't been doing anything related to SimCity, but the mods have always been in the back of my mind, so this evening I dusted off the old SC4 discs and installed them on the new laptop.

My problem is this: When I open up SC4, the screen momentarily turns black, and then it goes back to the desktop - but the game hasn't crashed. It's still running in the taskbar. When I click on it again the screen turns black, I hear a brief burst of region-view background music, and the desktop appears again.

I'd really love to get that fixed, so any help would be much appreciated. I'm guessing those familiar with the ATI Catalyst Control Center (for the video card settings) would be most helpful.

EDIT: Never mind. Had the game running in the background a while, just opened it back up, working fine with the custom resolution command thing.
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.
