Exploding Building - Age Degradation Exploit - Not Exploding

I thought I would make a one-tile building that lasts a month or two before creating a nuclear explosion.
Yes, I was in that sort of mood.

Anyways, I BAT-ed a building - inspired by an IED - set it as a (one-MWh-production) nuclear power plant whose age degradation rate was 0.5, meaning a 2-month lifespan. And I set the end-of-life hard failure type to "Super High Energy Explosion", the nuclear one.

So I built the building...and was disappointed. The building will not explode. No matter what I do.
And since I set the flammability to zero, I cannot burn it down to make it blow, either. (Is the flammability the cause of the anticlimax?)


Does anyone know why the building is not crossing the hard-failure threshold, and performing the hard-failure event, the explosion I request (like other plants do when reaching their lives' end)?

I'd say it's worth testing whether that would be the cause, yes.

I set the flammability to 255 - maximum - and now it works!
Is there any way to make it explode 100% of the time, rather than only some of the time?

EDIT:
It appears to explode if and only if you are at zoom 3 or lower. And then it ALWAYS explodes.

Interestingly, it appears to be detonating with more than three times the power of the nuclear plant. I have no idea what I did, but I like it.
