How to create splines from existing vertexes?

Hi,

I searched for some hours now but couldn't find an answer to that: for my first BAT project, I'm modelling a small barn and have come so far:

Now I came across a small problem I cannot solve: I simply want to create the roof. That is, I would need to create a rectangle that fits atop the edges of the outernmost rafters:

I tried to create both rectangles and lines by "catching" the vertex ov the rafters, but all the time ended up with a rectangle that is oriented parallel to the basement (XY pane) instead that it already has the proper angle that is given by the rafters.

To be honest, I had the same problem when creating the rafters: I selected the 4 vertexes that build one angled side of the wall (shown in red):

Those would exactly be those vertexes that would be the base rectangle for my rafter. However, I cannot figure out how to create a new rectangle from those 4 selected vertexes (who belong to the wall, of course). So I created the rafters in horizontal position and rotated them to the right angle so taht they are parallel to the wall.

I browsed through some tutorials, but didn't find anything describing that ... possibly someone can provid me a link to some tutorial?

Thanks,

Rady

Maybe

select your green box

convert to mesh

select the upper face in blue

detach this face as clone

after select this face and drag the points on the left to the other part of your roof
The Floraler

This is the end, hold your breath and count to ten, feel the earth move, and then...

Girafe, not only do I have lots of your BATS and LOTs in my Game, but now you completely made my day!! I wasn't able to select a surcase - possibly because I extruded the rafter from a rectangle and didn't create it as a box, but making a clone and deleting the vertixes not needed finaly made my roof.

Thanks, folk!
