Hi all,

I am thinking about changing the way demand works.  I haven't figured out exactly what I want, but it helps to picture a scenario:

Trees are cut down (dirty), cut into lumber (manufacturing), and chairs are made (not-so-hi-tech).

In a scenario like this ID has made demand for IM which makes demand for IH.  This is a basic outline, IM and IH could make demand for CS/CO, and CS could make demand for CO.  The jobs make demand for Residence.

The kicker is that I want Residence to only demand IR.  IR would then make demand for ID/CS/CO, and start the cycle over again.

This way the max population of a region would be determined by the amount of farmers.

Again, not too sure about the exactness of this.  I know that IR demand works a little differently than anything else (low EQ R$ make demand for 600% (?) IR).

How changeable are these relationships?

I think if anyone can help you, it would be RippleJet ... I dont know much about the demand simulator at all, but I do sorta like this idea

It should be doable, just by modifying all Drives properties, which I know you're familiar with. ;)
Just note that you will probably have to merge your changes with SimCity_1.dat, in order to avoid the doubling of the regional residential and workforce capacity.

I don't have the exact answer to that, but I'd imagine it might be related to the fact that only a fraction of all farm jobs are found in the lots themselves.
The majority of all farm jobs are available out in the fields (normally one per tile), even if most of those jobs (capacity) aren't actually taken.

Only by testing would you know. ;)
Also note that I-R demand isn't extrapolated to the region, like all other RCI types.
