Looking for ship controllers

 I am creating an amazonian delta map and am wondering what is needed for water to have ships sail in it. The river itself is deep and wide enough to sail just about any seagoing vessel up river for several hundered km. I am planning on making the river channel 60 m deep.

Any knowledge of the ship controllers and how they work will be appreciated
