What is going on here?????? I set the plop cost for a BAT to 99 but in the game plopping the building is charging me over 100,000... and varies up to 400,000... and then I open the lot in Sc4 tool to see if something was set wrong... but the value is right, 99... why is it costing me a ton to plop if the value is only 99?

Have you perhaps made used HEX where you needed decimal or vise versa?

justinrpg

I don't get what you are asking? what is Hex? your speaking Japanese to me...

WC_EEND

Hex is hexadecimal notation which mostly has a form like 0x0000000 (or any value between 0-9 or A-F).  ;)
RIP Adrian (adroman), you were a great friend

Short answer: hex is base 16. So, instead of having 8, 9, 10... you have 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, 10. where 10 there equals 16. So, a number like 99 (if it's hex) would be 153 in decimal notation (the base 10 we're used to). (9*16)+9.

However, that wouldn't seem to account for the large value you're getting here. Open up the lot with ilive's Reader and check the lot exemplar data for the plop cost. That will verify what the actual cost is. There are a few tutorials about using the Reader if you're not familiar with it. Just remember, changes need to be saved, it won't do it automatically.

why would Ilives be different to SC4 tool? SC4 tool says the value is right: 99

If the cost of ploping the building is varied, then the cost of demolishing/leveling the ground is included.  On flat empty land, the cost should always be the same.  If not, then you have more than one Building with different stats.  SC4 tool does make backups...

Well if SC4 tool says it's 99 - then it must be 99 and the game must be wrong. ThreeStooges actually gives good advice and mine is to follow his.

Good Luck
