The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

I read it somewhere that .sav files are only backup. the game uses .dat files. I found a lot of .sav files in my plugin folder. Should I keep them or remove them?

You can safely remove them from your Plugins folder.

Those .sav files are most likely backup files that SC4Tool creates when modding a lot. In case something goes wrong, delete the broken lot and rename the .sav file to .SC4Lot again. You can disable this feature in the options if you think you don't need it. If you find such a file in a download, delete it right away, as it might contain outdated data.
