dusting off SC4... zone view issue?

I tried looking/searching for an issue similar to this and not finding.  When I view zones only it seems some stuff still shows that should not?  Cars here obviously but seemingly random pieces of buildings and things will still remain visible as well.

It's been 2 years or so since I've played around with sc4... is it just that my memory of what zone view should show is faulty?  I had to resort to zone view to replace roads that had disappeared about 2-3 tiles out from intersections in between densely packed high density buildings.  Other than some roads vanishing (easy enough to fix by dropping a road on top of a tile where one should have been) and this zone view weirdness the game seems to be fine so far.

I was all excited because I can now run SC4 and the plugins folder off a shiny new SSD... speed improvements are definitely there as a result but also when I hit zone view or try to come out of it I have to sit and wait for what seems like a minute or more before the screen will update.

Any pointers appreciated... even better if someone knows what the problem is here or how I managed to mess up :)

This is totally normal.
When you switch to this wiew, only props appear. Then, when you go back to the normal view, every thing appears again.
It's the same for example when you go to the metro view, but just to place stations. The game makes just the props appearing, to se where you can place your station, to make it corresponding with the line underground.

I hope I've been understandable! ;)

Probably you installed the new zones view with the NAM. Just delete the respective file from the NAM Folder.

You nailed it thanks!  Random above ground stuff showing no longer happens AND only took about 2 secs to get into zone view.  Getting out of zone view takes much longer but I think I can deal with that :)
