OK, I'll admit that I don't really like certain trees in my game.  I think they might be CP trees.  They show up on Mattb325 and SPA residential lots and they are just so tall and garishly bright they overtake the lot and the neighborhoods they're in.  I really want to remove them from the game somehow so I can see the pretty buildings I've downloaded!  After I establish a neighborhood, I usually add in SimFox trees.  I love those alot!  How can I control these or just get rid of them????

Yes, I know which trees you mean and they are gigantic indeed. Here a few solutions I came up with.

For starters, you could remove the trees from the lots manually in the LE and replace them with the ones you want, which would be somewhat tedious and doesn't work for lots already grown.

You could also change the exemplar files (found in the proppack) and make it refer to a blank model via the reader. This would mean they won't show ingame ever thus possibly effecting a tree controller.

Another option would be to make an override, i.e. make a copy for the SimFox trees and change their instance so to be the same for the ones you want gone and make sure it load last.

Last two options require some understanding of file organisation and use of the reader. Hopes this helpes  :)

*edit, I see you're reading while I'm editing, all done now  ;) *

I have to say it, CP's trees are realisticly large.  Maybe not for someone's back yard, but that's another issue.

Probably not, these trees are timed props.  Tree controllers only use Flora.

Again, trouble with the fact that CycleDog's trees are timed.  You would have to replace all four seasons with SimFox trees.  Even then, you might get into trouble with a RKT4 to RKT1 switch (since prop pox is associated with RKT4 to RKT1, I can only assume the inverse will be an issue, not nessesarily prop pox though).

Best bet is to edit the lots, I would say

Thanks for the info!  Looks like a few days using the LE or else getting rid of some files.   &Thk/(

I think its more than just those.  BTW, the new ones look great!   It's these (just an example of a few) I don't want in game.  I wouldn't mind them so much if they were'nt so darn big.  It's the houses that are impressive and they are always hidden by a big ass ponderosa pine!   $%Grinno$%
