I have an issue that I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me is capable of solving. If you look at the photos you will see that I have rail going over an avenue with a slope involved. What I am trying to accomplish is getting the rail across to the freight yard that I am planning on building to the north. The issue is that I have both the rail and avenue on diagonals, and did I mention that there is a slope involved. Is there hope or should I scrap it and try getting the rail to the freight yard some other direction.

Thoughts?

Hi SimEurocat - I haven't been around much lately, but I'm fairly certain there are diagonal on/off pieces for the rail over avenue. However, where the rail crosses over the avenue, you will have to have the avenue level. I totally understand what you're trying to do, but the rail-over-(whatever) pieces have to be placed on level terrain. It just means you'll have to level off the avenue at the underpass and then resume sloping up to the T intersection. Good luck; and if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Don's correct.  There's a diagonal Rail On-Slope piece included in the NAM.  You'll need to make sure that the height difference between the Rail and the Avenue is roughly 15.5m for it to look right, though.  If it's off, you'll need to fiddle with the depth of the Avenue, likely using Hole Digger Lots.

I will give it a go and let you know what I come up with. With the slope mod in place I had a real hard time getting the avenue to connect in that distance. I'm certain that it won't connect in as short a distance as from the rail to the bridge. I may have to alter the complete orientation of the transport network to get it done, but we'll see about that.

Thanks gentlemen,

i think your bridge should work with no problems. the avenue and rail should be flat at the overpass if i remember correctly. i think it will automatically flatten itself out either way. other options are you could build a diagonal avenue bridge over the river if you wanted. or, you could also build an avenue overpass over the rail, perhaps in a slightly different location.  a bit of terraforming might be needed no matter what you decide to do. good luck.
