I just downloaded Region Census. When I open it I get a warning: C:\USERS\John\Documents\SimCity4\simcity_1.dat was not found. Fill empty tiles will not be available.
When I go in to edit preferences to set my destination folder it gives me the same warning.
Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

Make sure the folder you select has the Simcity1.dat in it. For instance I have two SC4 folders: One in my documents where my regions are, and one in my steam folder where my plugins and Simcity_x.dat are. ;)

I just checked ( as my region census always gave me this warning but I never bothered to take care of that) and selected my Steam's sc4 folder, no more warning message.

Thanks art. Did some digging and found the dat file. No more warning. Now I have another question. When I save an image it says it is being saved in Region Census but I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions?

When you save the image ( file\save image ) does it tell you to choose where to save it?

Yea. But I figured it out. I clicked on view compatibility files and it brought me to the APP Data folder and the pictures were tucked away there in a Region Census folder. Don't understand that but at least I know where they are going now. Thanks for your help and input.
