Crashes

Hello everyone

I'm having some trouble recently with my Simcity.

Troubles I have are crashes. More often than it should.

A little backstory and information. I have the game through Steam, updated etc everything was fine until one day I try to launch it but I get a message " missing .exe "........

This surprises ma a lot because I've never moved or deleted the .exe from the game's directory. I try to launch it from steam library, same error. Shortcut on my task-bar, same error. " what the hell? " .... I go check in the game's directory, and BAM surprise, no .exe?!  What happened is beyond me, it just vanished.

Luckily, with steam you can " verify integrity of game cache " and it'll download every missing files. Good, I do that and launch the game, change the graphics because they were f***ed.

But then I start having some real strange crashes. I plop a building BAM crash, I try to take a screenshot, BAM crash. I save the god damn city tile and crash! No matter what I try it seems every tiles started BEFORE the .exe disappeared makes the game crash. that's quite troublesome.

I'm up to try everything. From plugin to plugin to a complete re-install ( though, it's a hell of work to make the Japanese language  work in-game...)..

My hardware, in case it's important:
FX-8350
AsRock 970de3/u3s3
8GB
GTX 650
WD caviar blue 650GB

Last I checked all my drivers are all up to date.


If anyone has an idea or two about this quite annoying problem ( can't make any progress on my cities, can't test things....)

I have a worst computer than your, but my SimCity crash for problems with the mods... and it is cracked...

I use Avast as antivirus.

I might have to reinstall the game, yeah.

I'll try to run the updates, who knows maybe the new .exe steam gave me was not updated?

Whelp, did nothing.

The game just crashed on me while I was moving around on the city tile (made before the .exe disappeared)

Tomorrow I'm going to backup my plugin and re-install the game (and re-install the NAM too) to see if it somehow helps... :/

I suggested to read the post to verify if what happened to you was the same thing that happened to him ...

anyway if you downloaded the exe steam again so I suppose you disabled AVG to play?

I'm not using AVG as I told you.

However I did check Avast's """"""" virus """"""" vault to see, and surprise there was two instance of SC4.exe, different from one minute. Strange. Anyway i did restore the more recent one to see, launched the game, was able to move around the map, save and exit but, the game kind of, freeze after is saved, meaning it did not exit. It saved, yes, but never exited the game. Strange.

I'm going to do a clean installation of Simcity now.
