Hello everyone. I just changed my computer. I was happy because the initial load was fast (4GB mods ...) than before. But as soon as I started to place the boxes I had heavy graphics encounter any difficulties. THIS IS NOT DEPENDENCE. I have a Nvidia. I do not know what you can do dares suggest?

You must have Windows 8.1. I know you said you have an Nvidia graphics card, but do you have any onboard graphics? The Intel HD Graphics chips do not really handle older games with their newer drivers anymore, and this problem is getting a lot more prevalent.

I suggest going into the settings for your Nvidia card and making sure SC4 is set to run on the graphics card, rather than the Intel integrated graphics chips. For whatever reason, the game defaults to using the integrated graphics chip and you have to change this manually.

Yes, I had already done in the control panel are sure it uses the Nvidia card.
Perhaps the resolution full hd? .I Tried to enable all: antialiasing, vertical sync ... etc.

I think you'll want to disable those options or set them to be "application selected." SC4 can't handle many of these newer 3D features that graphics card drivers have nowadays.

Modern Intel processors+integrated graphics and NVidia GPU combos are pretty common in computers and laptops these days.  Unfortunately SimCity 4 tends to use the Intel graphics instead of Nvidia, even if you have set it up otherwise.

Try this:
- Right click on SC4 desktop icon
- Click "Run with graphics processor"
- Select the Nvidia graphics card

Then you should probably do some trail-n-error and play around with the settings some more. I once posted an image of my Nvidia settings, I'll see if I can find it again.

. . .

Found it.

This fixed major graphic issue for me years ago, hope it'll be of help.

Two problems I noticed trying to play SC4 with a Nvidia GPU (in a laptop) were Nvidia's newer drivers just won't play nice and I got predictable and irritating graphical glitches which went away as soon as I rolled back to an old driver; and Nvidia Optimus completely screws you over with its "intelligent" method of saving power by automatically selecting to use onboard for low memory usage and dedicated for high power stuff.  The problem is, the technology DOES NOT WORK properly.  Then I discovered Nvidia Inspector and suddenly I could actually force my computer to use only the Nvidia card.  Sure, I know there's a setting to do that in the Nvidia control panel, but fact is, it never worked properly for me.  Now things are much better and my computer runs slightly less hot because it isn't futzing around trying to guess which graphics to use. May or may not help you, but works wonders for me.

Honestly I have no clue, but I've been running my laptop daily for about three months with the settings I tweaked in Nvidia Inspector and nothing's been giving me trouble.  I have a 610M and a quad core i-5 2.4GHz with dinky cooling and I use a good laptop cooler, but overall I don't think I'm in any danger of melting anything.  At least, no more than if I was letting the laptop try to default to the integrated Intel.  After cracking open my case and cleaning all the gunk out of the cooling fan, it's been running pretty well and certainly better than it did a year ago.
