Hey guys, just finished my first complete model, time for texturing. Im having trouble using the textures that come with the BAT gamepack,(just to get me started) when i take one of those textures from the navigator and put it into the editor, it doesnt show it wrapped round the ball-shaped previewer. Instead, it just shows the texture as flat, and i cant apply the texture to my wall. I dont think its a technical problem, just one of inexperience.  Anyone please help?

Open the Material Navigator, and you should see both the material and the maps. Double click on the map and it should appear in the Material Editor on the globe.

First, have you added the texture to a material? The simplest way to check is to click on the material globe and then underneath it click on the Maps rolldown.  There should be a texture name next to the "diffuse" map.  If not, this is where the bitmap texture needs to be added.

Also, have you turned on the texture preview for that particular material?...it's the little chequered blue and white box in the material editor directly under the globes...sorry I can't post a screenie as I'm on the Mac at the mo.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it
