Neighbor connections with the RHW (I need to confirm some things)

Many salutations!!!  I have really found my groove with the RHW and am glad that it was incorporated into the NAM.  I have also gotten the hang of constructing hi-speed rail lines although it is still a bit of a pain to ensure a flat trench for ground HSR; further inflaming matters, the viaducts that I build over ground HSR sometimes bend upward at the ends and I do not like how that makes it look like I did not do the job properly.

Anyway, the feature presentation is that I want to confirm some things.  In order to create a neighbor connection with the RHW, it is necessary to first draw the carriageway beyond the edge of the map and then place the neighbor-connector pieces on the connection, false?  Well, I have done that and my Sims are not availing the highway out of town in the same manner they did with the Maxis highways.  Did I make some kind of mistake with the neighbor connection which unnerves my Sims against availing the RHW?

If there is a >1 tile median, you need to plop the invisible loop connectors in between the two carriageways. The arrows need to be pointing to each direction of RHW. Have you done that?

(Light bulb over head turning on) . . . no, I have not tried that.  I added two of them to an RHW neighbor connection.  Was that the way to do it?
