Obviously, drawbridges are much needed feature in the game. While we let the modders figure out how to circumvent that particular conundrum, perhaps we should make do with eyecandy lots.

I think that rail drawbridges would be particularly easy to do. All that is necessary is the general shape of the ingame overdeck truss bridge or level rail bridge and the addition of a large steel tower encasing a concrete block:

Heres a pic of the counterweight itself:

Now, add a control turn the BAT into an overhanging bridge for a three or 4-space wide gap tower, and set the bridge addition overhanging from a seawall set, you have a drawbridge that'll always remain closed, but at least it'd look like a bridge.

Perhap's it'd even be possible to set the lot underwater and have it hover over a bridge (at a perscribed elevation). Not sure if that'd work, though.

I'm no BATer at all (or even lot editor, for that matter--my skills are quite rudimentary in the lot editor field), so I can't undertake this project that'd probably make our waterways look snazzier. Mayhap one of you would?
