The Void

   i was working on a city and then exited from it then some glitch happened and it went to regional view and the city was gone and all was left was a big empty space, a void.

the city is in the region folder but it just doesn't show up i restarted the and even reinstalled it but still does not show up, does anyone know a way to fix it?

Hi ReydelLaCuidad-

I've actually had some similar things happen myself, though usually I end up just seeing blank green terrain.  I figured out that it was because I was playing in Window mode and switched to a different program while the game was still saving, and I'd imagine any other sort of interruption in the game's save routine can cause that.  Did you try clicking on the blank spot?  I've been able to do that with the tiles that have voided out for me as well, and they've been perfectly fine.

Is that square there actually Mersailles? if it is, then I dont know but if it is a different city then maybe it is because the config.bmp has corrupted, it may be that that city tile doesnt appear in the config file anymore...

so you would have to open paint and add that square back in

it's a city i made,  what do you mean open paint and add it in how you do that? oh and to answer the frist person's question i can't click on the void

uh, go to your my documents/simcity 4 folder

then to the regions folder and then the subfolder for that region

there should be a file called config.bmp

double click on it and it should open in paint, if not right click => open with and select Paint

then you should see a little box that is the size of your region at the scale 1 small tile is 1 pixel

there will be a pixel that is not red green or blue (where yellow is green too)

this needs to be colored in red

I'm with the same error. Reading in other places I'd noticed that, while writing the new .sc4 file by saving, the simcity 4.exe cannot be interrupted by any other application.

Does anybody know a good .sc4 file editor other than a hex editor?
