changing map sizes

hey there hope this is the place for this question. I have been using the default maps that the game gives (what about three or four differesnt variations) all using far too many small maps for my liking. Now want to make one using all large maps (or squares, blue i think) is it easy to do this or is it a complicated procedure. if easy could someone please point me towards a totorial. i have checked but havent found anything that i think is it, likely its been done by most for a while now as i have seen lots of the maps on the city journals that have all large maps.

If all you want to just edit the config map, just use paint,

Blow up the pic to 800% (I turn the graph on myself) each square is 1 small city, colour arangement for the cites are RED= small city tile (1 grid block), GREEN = 1 med city (2x2 grid blocks), BLUE= large city tile (4x4 grid blocks), all cities are square, and there are only 3 sizes , Small, Medium, Large ...Your case, paint the whole config map blue. and re render the region...

careful not over lap cities, cause errors in the region.

after that you be looking at one of the map making tools from the NHP, they have quite few option in them, which enables you to make new maps, alter jpegs and config map....lot other neat stuff.
