SC4 BAT wont install with out gmax

After reading that night lighting won't work with out updates and the Bat program I went to download from the game site.  When I try to install the BAT it tells me I need gmax, when I go to that site I am told they no longer offer it.     The BAT won't install to my game and now I have no idea what to do to get lights in my buildings.  Am I to late to make this work and will never have my cities light up ?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you downloaded the SC4Update4BAT.exe, and not the BAT (SC4BATInstaller.exe) itself? The latter one won't install without gmax, since it's a gmax plugin, but the update for the nightlights shoudn't cause any problems.

The one I got on the main site is called SC4BATInstaller, so now I know that is wrong...so where do I go for the right one?  I really need a link...Please!!

Actually, it's on the very same download page (http://simcity.ea.com/coolstuff/bat/index.php), just scroll down a bit until you see the "SimCity 4 Update (14.4MB)" link.

If you want to BAT, go to turbosquid.com, they have copies of the last version of gmax before it was discontinued.

OK I keep getting this error message when I try to update and it won't work.  I even deleted my game and reinstalled it and the same message keeps coming up, anyone know what it means?

I have solved the issue...and I don't mind saying that most of it was in my Grandma brain.  After reinstalling the game I forgot to update the game...before I tried to add the other things to it, once I got it up to build 1.1.638 I could get the other updates to install.  I now have many bright lights, thank you so much for you help.
