Me of the many questions: I've finally installed Cycledogg's excellent meadow modd. Bloddy marvelous terrain is the result. But to get it to work I had to remove some stuff. And I may have removed too much. Senility does that to you.

So now I am looking for a street mod that will give me dirt sidewalks or some such along farms and - optionally - unzoned areas, but leaves the built-up zones alone. Sort of along the lines of Jeronjii's brilliant railtrack textures.

Does it exist?? And work with both Jeronjii's & Cycledogg's add-ons?

I remember a couple dirt road mods on the STEX, and the Street Addon Mod (SAM) includes Gravel, Dirt, and Muddy streets. Swamper made a rural road mod over at SimPEG which can give you dirt shoulders for unzoned areas.

I'd recommend not using the files from over there. There are problems with them and I no longer visit that site so no support will be given for my files that are downloaded from there.

I have updated files, but I need time to double check the files and get them uploaded. I will probably have the time to do so once I get a new job with office hours (ie 9-5).

Thanks, Swamper77; I've looked and I could not find any street mods at the PLEX. Are there any, even older one's, anywhere else? All I am after is the dirt banks besides rural streets and/or roads...

Much obliged..

Of my files, no. The only downside to my "rural roads mods" is that they only place dirt shoulders on orthagonal sections, not diagonals. They are also very square as well in terms of the graphics.

As I said previously, I will need spare time to finish and upload the files....

Finally, is there a "recommended" dirt streets mod? I mean one without problems, glitches etc.
Any link please?

You *could* use the SAM - Street Addon Mod BETA v2.

The Dirt and Gravel Streets which are included in the mod will not show sidewalks, just the Street Surface and the different wealth levels of grass..  Just search the STEX or LEX for SAM or JPlumbley.  There are some RUL glitches that are being fix for v3 which will come out with more additions in the coming future.  We are adding alot of new textures, and when they are done and packaged, there will be a new release with fixes for a few small issues found in v2.

It is a very stable mod and the issues are just little things such as Stability, a couple texture IID mix ups, which have been fixed, etc.

SAM includes 8 additional textures variations for the Street network that are currently usable with others to add in future releases.  It superseeds essentially any Street Mod that has been created in the past such as Jeronij and Torolca's Dirt Roads, PEGs Dirt and Gravel Roads, Herringbone Streets by Ardecila, Cobblestone Street by xanpanne, and adds a couple others.  All these textures may be used simultaneously in the same city without conflict.

Street Addon Mod - SAM

Jeronij has done a dirty streets mod it's available here on the LEX. There are two versions, Diagonal Dirty Streets Extended Version and Diagonal Dirty Streets Simplified Version. Just type jeronij in the Uploader/Creator search box. They are quite near the end, page 5. They are similar to the ones in the SAM, but work for diagonal streets, too. It may be a bit tricky to get them working properly with the SAM, but they will work as long as you get them to load in the correct order in your Plugins folder.

I've used SAM and decided against it. It's not a question of stability, but of the way the textures cannot really be limited other than by a road or one-way. Once you decide, say, on a suburb with a certain texture, any connecting street will take that texture. And while I understand what was needed to do it, I still did not find it to be what I wanted.

I've had the dirt sidewalks before; and I believe it came with a tree mod, and added various street side clutter in farmin areas. I also think it is still installed because the clutter appears, but the trees do not - and that could be the result of using a replacement texture to cover SC4's hideous puke green. Cycledogg's meadow modd is now in use and looks good, but it may well prevent the trees and the dirt.
