City Tile Background Glitching

This started happening to me recently, and I'm not sure why. Also, it's not so much a serious problem as it is just an annoyance.

Something happened to the background textures of my city tiles. Instead of the default dark-blue tiles I normally see, it's now just pitch black.



This is all right, but what really bothers me is the side effect of the problem:



Whenever I scroll around, the graphics glitch up like this. It occurs at every zoom level. I've even tried installing an alternate background texture, but to no avail. They won't show up either.

Has anyone ever had this problem before? Like I said, it's not an urgent problem, but little imperfections like this irk me.

Have you by any chance removed the background pics that you find in your plugins folder?
this is usually the cause of it.

I don't think that's the problem.  He said he tried installing other backgrounds, which also didn't show up....

The background pics should be in Maxis\plugins not in MyDoc\plugins

Ive had the same problem with trying custom backgrounds and I just went back to Maxis background's...

I've been gone on spring break w/o Internet, but the problems have been fixed. My backgrounds were missing from the Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Plugins folder. It turns out that you can't place the files in a subfolder either. Thanks again for the assistance.
