Weird farming problems

My farming regions are developing some strange problems (see pic): some decided to grow concrete instead of produce; others seem lumbered with odd texture "add-on's". It isn't any particular farm, even standard SC4 farms get it. Even after going back two weeks (I backup daily), to an earlier version of the region, the problem persists, and now appears in new regions as well. The underlying "Meadow" modd worked fine thus far.

Any ideas? Anyone??  :'(

Just a guess, but I would say that you have DL'd something that has an base texture/prop IID conflict.

That's why I "went back in time": thought so, too. But that does not seem to be the case. And with vacations (and the recent outages on all major SC4 sites) I did not install anything new..am perplexed, to say the least..

One of the textures appears to be from Artgolfs set... I use it with no problems though...

How about moving that LOT out of your plugins and reDL it and see if you have the same problem.

Robin: It does not appear to be any particular lot; the abberations appear randomly, and only in cities that contain farms. It affects standard SC4 farms as well as custom content.

Diggis: do you know of any lots or modds that use Artgolf's textures? Maybe this will help me identify the problem.

Yeah, artgolfs golf pack :P

the only ones I know of.

But it looks like more than just that texture.

In the meantime I've narrowed it down to two farms of the SC4 stable: Pumkin Acres and Bartlett Stables. The problem appeared a few days ago when I returned to older regions after a long hiatus. But by now this texture problem appears in every region.

What happens with an empty plugins?

Empty plugin? Do you mean a zoned area without development? If so, deleting the offending farm will remove the abberant textures; usually one of the custom farms devolps, if the zone is large enough. The texture problems never appear right away but only after a few SC4-years.

Empty your plugins folder (No downloads).  Play a new region for a while and zone some farms.  If it's still happening then you probably need to reinstall the game.

This happened to me because of the Rail base mod on NOBs (?) website. I blew up the fields that had the problem. Though, it is possible that you have something else causing the problem
The most astounding and unique aspect of the human race is our fervent application of our ingenuity to kill each other, thus completely defying the near-universally proven fact that the ultimate goal of a member of a species is to ensure the survival of the species.

Diggis gives good advice. I see from your picture that roads as well as farm fields are mixed up. Note how the maxis gold course grass cuts across the road?? Empty your plugin's. Start the game and check things out. You'll probably have some brown boxes due to missing models. But that's ok as brown boxes are not your problem right now. Exit without saving and you should be ok.

Start a new test city. Just zone bunches stuff. See if the bad textures return. Maybe something in the saved game file?

Are you using the dat packer? Then repack your plugins. And start a new city or try this faulty one again.

I'm not an expert on anything SimCity technical ... but just throwing out a couple of suggestions that may narrow down the possibilities.
