The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

First I want to say thank you to everybody in the community who BATs and LOTs and maintains the websites and everything.  It's you guys (and gals) who make SC4 worth playing.  You're truly people of genius.  Now down to business.  It seems I'm having a problem with some of the downloads from the LEX (Callagrafx's Bywater Springs Medical Facility http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1676, mas71's JRP Core Lot Pack http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1674, and mas71's two add-on packs for the JRP http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1678 http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1704.)  Whenever I try to download these pieces of art, Avast, my anti-virus program, aborts the connection because it detects a Trojan trying to enter my system.  Is this a known conflict between the Avast program and these files or have they somehow been compromised/corrupted?  Thanks in advance!

This has been brought up before. The NSIS Installer (I think is the one used), uses scripts for compression that makesthe files look to an Anti-Virus Scanner as a Trojan Horse, when they really arent.  These are called False Positives and are fairly common with the installers used widely in the SC4 Community.

Wow, thanks for the swift reply!  Yeah, I read in another post how Zone-Alarm and AVG reacted to certain files for another person so I was wondering if it was true too for Avast.  I'm guessing the files are probably fine, though I don't know why it only thinks the ones from Callagrafx and mas71 are corrupted.  Maybe because of a certain version of the installer being used?  Anyway, I'll try shutting down Avast and downloading/unzipping/installing then.  Just gotta make sure system restore is on first.  You know, just in case.  ;)

I dont recall any specific reason that cameup as to why this occured.  But anyways, thread locked since it served its purpose.
