How To Build Towns (9000 - 5000 Population)

First of all if you have already read my other topic welcome back and this time i'll do my best at making things clearer.

Now that you have chose a tile you need power so you can either build a power plant in the next tile link it up with power lines or buy and just build one in the outside of the tile this will also represent were your industry is going to be.

Second step is place roads build a GROUND highway and do not build random just put the odd curbe here and then this will be bypassing your town. Now that the highway and industry have rough ideas were they are going to be built you get a rough picture of were the actual town will be built, if you dont make sure it is imbetween both the highway and industry. Now you must build a railway line of either 1 tile or 3 tiles max must be placed around about 1 tile above the rest on a mini hill as in real life nearly all railines in the world are the same then link from one end of the tile to the other ensuring that it runs near industry and near the town center.

The roads in the town itself will be around 40% straight roads 10% curved roads and the remaining 50% streets the streets will be 30% random and 70% straight. Now the easy part is zoning becuase that is done however you want, you build your commericial outside the town near the highway to make a business park or put it in random places in your residencial zones all over the place but whatever you do dont forget parks policestations fire school and hospital then provide water and the job is done now sit back and watch the world go by!
