I'm just starting with this stuff, i like the idea that's behind it and i think i will appreciate the gameplay it can give me but:
- downloaded cam main pack
- i know that i can play stright with only that pack but i feel it would be better to have some camelot to maximize the experience
- i find this trhead linking some starter pack for residential, commercial, industrial. great this is what i need, 3/4 packs to download and i'm done
- i read a bit and i discover that i have to deal with dependencies...ouch
- every pack contains some zips that contain a file that lists some of dependencies

so the result is downloading some zips, opening them to discovers you have to download other zips and open them again and again

isn't there and easiest and quick way?

a CAM for dummies starter pack? a huge zip that contains all the starter packs and their dependencies....sort of.... maybe...
i'm discouraged of trying cam....i know i can deal with all the procedure but.... well i want to play :/
thanks for you attention

Certain CAMeLots are based on old bats uploaded on the STEX, which we have not been given permission to upload on the LEX or include in the DVD. If you want those CAMeLots, you unfortunately will have to download that old bat separately, and discard everything in that file, except the model itself.

Donate 25€ and get the SC4D DVD... that contains all CAMeLots with their models that we were given permission to include. ;)

Hello Mulan000

Ripplejet gives good advise.

You can always do what I did. I started the CAM process by eliminating all of those tall pre-CAM skyscrapers from my plugins. I then played the game until I saw my first stage 8 building appear. When that happened I then went to the LEX and downloaded a number is stage 9's and 10's. Then played the game some more. I went back to the LEX when I saw that first stage 10 CAM building grow and downloaded some stage 11 and 12 buildings. What does this do? It breaks the download process into smaller more manageable tasks and the transition from RUSH Hour to CAM was more enjoyable because I alternated between work (downloading) and game play.

Nevertheless, I did get a handful of boxes and suspect you will too. But I didn't let that get me down because a brown box just meant that i didn't have a that particular model file. Boxes don't ruin the game or destroy your city. I just read the readme's again and figured it out. Good Luck.

I think the CAM is well worth it. Wouldn't play the game without it and highly recommend it. By the way - welcome to SC4Devotion. Hope you enjoy your time here.
