Has anybody built these yet at all or something of the like?  I have done some searching and I couldn't find any buildings.  I guess it takes ultra long to make something like that.  I dunno.  Any input would be nice.

Hello, and welcome!

I have actually been keeping an eye out for BAT models of the arcologies from the original SC games, and haven't really found them.  I know that if they are out there, there are people around here who will know how and where to find them.  Try to be patient while waiting for an answer :)

I'm not sure anyone has Batted anything like these yet.  However, they wouldn't work as the original archologies as they were comm ind and res all in one which we can't do in SC4

Nardo69

If I remember correctly someone from Japan has BATted something like the Launch Arco. Should still be available on some of the japanese pages, maybe you'll go to the japanese thread and the check links given there.

However I must say when I tried SC3K for the first time I missed them but I never missed them in SC4. I can remember that in my last period in SC3K I just build cities untill I got my first Arco and then plopped Arco next to Arco. Then I got bored and stopped playing Simcity untill I bought SC3K.

I never got bored with Sc4 however - you have so much possibilites you don't need Arcologies ...

Well I did some searching on the links we had posted in the Japanese section.  I found what I was looking for..  well a mini version of it.  but I didn't expect anything too crazy to begin with.  figured it was hard to create something like that.

as for the multi zone thing mentioned above... I was really just looking for a recreation of any of them.  I actually like the stiles of the other ones besides the launch arco.  I'm not sure if any of you remembered what they looked like.  It's funny though because when I went to all the links in the Japanese section it was the third site I had clicked on to find it.  I guess amazing luck as there are a ton of links to other sites there.

here it is

well now that I found this.  I am curious if anybody is able to make this a stage 15 $$ or $$$ residential plop with a high residence number?

Nardo69

Sounds nice yet a bad idea. Ploppable residentials don't work in SimCity - Sims can only reach ploppables but not leave them, this is why ploppable industrials and commercials work but residentials not.

juciebox

oh ok.  well I never knew that.  I guess if its possible for it to be converted to a growable R$$ or R$$$ lot with high residence potential.  would that be possible to modify this in order to get that done?  I'm not sure how hard it would be for me to do it.

juciebox

BUMP!  Any people willing to modify that?

joelyboy911

I think it's fairly easy. Do you have iLive's LEProp? It allows you to change capacities and the like (I think - I just use it for changing costs and icons).

So how about arcologies as rewards, where you can build one of them when you have enough Sims? Even as "useless" landmarks, arcologies will be cool

I had this dream that I was playing SC4 and then I plopped this big dome called Arcology Dome which covered the entire city!

I guess this dome could be feasible and could contain maybe a small city in it and if you zoom out or go in region mode, it would look like a city in a dome or to me, an arcology.

This lot could be 1x1 and the dome itself could be overlapping and transparent.  ;)

I doubt I could BAT these, but I do know a way to make them fully functional. Bat them in three parts, make the Res-part cover a 5x6 area, it will only grow on a lot of that size (Pegasus has some lots that use this approach). Make the Com and Ind parts plopable.

miggoycor: There already is a large dome available. You can find it by looking through a CJ called Zanaopolis on Simtropolis.

Hmm, ok then, but where can I get it? It doesn't seem to be on the stex. Can you post a link?
