and I am wondering how much stuff do most of you use. I have pretty much used just about everything ()stsfd() that is compatible with the main things (i.e. CAM, NAM, X-Ports, and Cycledoggs terrain mod). I mean everything, here at the STEX, Peg's stuff at his site. I have them all packed with the dat packer here. But I am wondering, am I going to experience issues with this down the line. Is it too much? Does anyone else run with all this stuff at once? I am sure I am not alone in at least wanting to use only custom content in my cities, but since I am really just starting to settle down to the work of playing  :D I would like to know what I should actually expect from this, in the way of possible issues, or hopefully from many many happy users that say they use it all too. Anyway thanks for the replies when they come and nice to know that there is a good community that still absolutely loves this game!

I guess there are several things that can be a problem.

1. Custom content grows, but you are not really able to control waht lots grow where. This may result in mediterranean houses next to norhtern european brick, next to USA wooden MTP stuff. This is not very realistic.
2. The game will slow down when your citeis grow. This is partly caused by your pluginsfolder. This is, of course, also largely influenced by your computer.
3. Incompatibility of files, but as long as you are careful you can keep this problem away.
4. Scrolling time grows enormously. All ploppable lots are to be found somewhere in your tiny amount of Maxis defined menus... It could take half a hour to find that certain park that you want to plop. This is, I guess, the most irritating problem of large plugins folders.
5. You can run out of disk space... No that isn't an issue anymore.

You could take a look in the "how large is your plugins folder?" thread. You will see that 1,5 Gb is not uncommon. How large is your folder?

I suggest you don't go there. I'm nearly out of space and can't really free up much.

Really?
Wow, is your game directory that large, or is your HD that small?
I guess that on my 500GB disk there is plenty room for 200 games or regions with each their own pluginsfolder....
