No shovels, just lots and lots of lots of my own design.

They use Brian's (c.p./cycledogg) seasonal trees, and range in size anywhere from 1x1 to 24x24.

I've used them for years in 3RR- they're on the 3RREX here [linkie], fifth one down.

Lots of lots - I see that my plugins will be full to overflowing before the challenge is done.   :D  The nice thing about the pictures is that you've taken square and rectangular lots and have made a nice natual looking flow of the tree lines.

Go, Natureboy, lovin' the how the roads wind their way through the landscape.  And the snow--there's a spring blizzard on its way here, it must have hit BorderTown first.  But you know it doesn't stick around long this time of year.  Next thing you know, the trees are leafing out.

Besides, sooner or later I'll have to...

...the horror, the horror...

Do not be afraid of the developing...move your mouse gently into that sweet developing.  It's that icon at the very top of the menu...and make sure your bulldozer has a full tank of diesel...

Bye for now.

Your work is simply amazing. I'd never had the patience to build up all this nature as long as I know that I'm going to destroy it again.

Great work david - your nature looks amazing! Are you using your mossy rock mod?

The FAR/R also looks so natural. Looking forard to more.

Those seasonal tree lots are great! It makes the forests look so natural.

You ought to make an icy limestone rock mod just for the perfect touch on those wintry pictures. I know, you've already thought of it with your brilliant mind :D, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Well, we're through the first challenge, and I've started detailing and developing Quad H.

IR-10 enters the quad from the east (right) and then turns north at the point where it reaches the Blaine River across from Monolith Hill.  It leaves the quad to the north (top) having generally followed the path of the old River Road along the Blaine, but the old road diverges to the west as a dirt road hugging the bank while IR-10 continues straight north headed for the border.  South of the junction with IR-10, River Road, which is paved in asphalt from this point, resumes following the east bank of the Blaine, crossing Skunk Creek on a culvert.  Another asphalt road- Rangeline Road, parallels the southern boundary of the quad.  It carried IR-10 across the quad from the east to the intersection with Hollyberry Road just past the bridge over the Blaine River until the 1970s, when IR-10 was moved to its current alignment to the north.  Rangeline Road also crosses Skunk Creek on a culvert.

The southern section of Hollyberry Road is a gravel-surface road that runs south from Askew Corners and its intersection there with Monolith Road.  North of Rangeline Road it was IR-10's old alignment, and traces of the 1930's era concrete pavement can still be found, albeit almost completely deteriorated.  It crosses Big Pine Creek on a culvert just outside Askew Corners.

West of Askew Corners Hollyberry Road resumes its path along the section line headed north.  This gravel stretch was also the old alignment of IR-10 headed north to the ferry landing prior to 1973.

The final road of any significance in Quad H is Monolith Road, named for the flat-topped butte that dominates the landscape of the quad.  This gravel-surfaced road enters the quad from the west (left), passes through Askew Corners and then bends to the north just before reaching the western base of Monolith Hill.  From there, the road parallels Blaine River, leaving the quad and then reaching IR-10 just west of that road's bridge over the Blaine.

Wheat, milo, clover and dairy farms cover most of Quad H, with wooded areas remaining along the river and creeks, and on Monolith Hill.

Askew Corners has a population of 147, and its only extant businesses are a gas station, general store and hardware/feed and seed.  The village also has two churches (from a time when its population approached 500), a cemetery, and a trooper subpost.  Fire service is provided from Reuben, in Quad G.

That is one heck of a picture. When I saw this first I thought that it was a real photo, but then I saw the details of SC4 and I am amazed, especially seeing the green near the water makes it so real looking. Wow, when it will come to details and scenery in the challenges, I guess who is going to be one of the masters...... ;)
