My Game keeps crashing after about 15-20 minutes of play. This used to happen only on Medium tiles. So I stopped playing them, But now it happened TWICE on a large tile. A couple of days ago in a different city tile (large) it said I had a missing plugin. Could this be a missing texture? would this be causing it to crash?

I have some problem too!! can you help us?

I have that problem too, I did not delete anything and when I start the game show a list of plugins missing.

Tha last thing I installed was the latest BATs from simgoober, Today I'm going to put those files and see if those are the problem.

Xiziz

I believe it is possible to use the cleanitall tool from the LEX to scan for dependencies that are missing(I know for sure there is one for SG).

Then click the "boxes?" button as seen from everywhere on this site(the menubar above the forum frame) and you will be rewarded with a huge list of dependencies and where to get them.

However missing dependencies should not cause CTD's, so chances are that you have missed an essentials file, or have multiple port controllers.

Sc4 however is rather prone to crashes, another way to reduce the amount of crashes is to use datpacker(from LEX) to pack your plug-ins into smaller consistent files(which drastic increases memory performance, and reduces risk of a memory misswrite.

I guess you can try to run the game without any plug-ins, just to rule out hardware related causes. My guess is that there is some vital missing dependency, or multiples of exclusive controllers. Its also feasible that you have to many plug-ins and you need to run datpacker to reduce the impact on your memory.

wouanagaine

here the step I propose ( almost the same a Xiziz )
run vanilla game see if it crash ( certainly hardware, drivers related problem )
run with your plugins see if it crash ( certainly conflicting plugins )
run with datpacked plugins see if it crash ( certainly a bug in my program :( :( :( )

make also sure you are not hovering a station over a TE lot as this leads to CTD, something very common when laying GLR and putting the GLR station ( using the non draggable version )

Have you installed a new mod?

When I installed the traffic view mod, I couldn't load one of my cities, and I couldn't play the U-drive it

missions, and when I went to zoom level 6 it crashed...I suggest removing the mods first, leaving the plugins

(building, etc.) and see if the game runs.

If it still crashes, then you have a faulty plugin.

If it doesn't then either one or two things are at work here:

a) you have a conflict with a mod and a plugin
b) you just have a faulty mod.

I would suggest that you try all the mods and all the plugins that you installed around the time the crashes started to try and find out which ones are incompatible, or which ones are faulty.

Also another tip: try going through your readme files to see if they say anything about compatibility or dependancies...if one does, then remove it and the problem should be solved.

Hope that helps,
Richard :)
