Hello to all of you,

as being a new member of this forum and after having discovered all the good and excellent works from all of you we get a few problems:

1. Most Lots are placed in the Recreation (Park) menu and therefore we now have a endless list of Lots in this menu. The point is that after having plopped one Lot (for example a Canal- Lot by Sim Goober) the menu closes and has to be re- opened. If you now want to build a canal over your whole map it takes a lot of cigarettes and nerves to open the menu and to scroll to the right lots you want to use..... &mmm
As a result we take items from other menues (like seaport menu) as it needs shorter time......

Maybe we are doing something wrong (sorry if so and sorry in advance if anybody is annoyed about this question)......

We would be very thankful if someone could help us.....we would appreciate it !!!  :) :) :)

Thanks in advance and all the best for you all

Hello and welcome to the forums~!  Do enjoy your stay here.

Now, for your question -- honestly, I don't know how to move items from one menu to the other.  I have yet to create any custom content, but I'm pretty sure somebody else could help you do that.  However, I do know how to rearrange items in the list.  You could move the canal lots to the top of the menu to be more accessible.

You can find out how to do that at the Omnibus on Simtropolis:

Hello Dreamcat,

thank you very much for your quick reply !!!
I bookmarked the link you mentioned and I hope that I will manage to follow each step written in the manual (I am not a computer super scientist so let's see what happens.....I thik it will be good if I backup the game at first   :D).

Whish you all the best and ahve a nice day !!!!

OK, Your problem is one we have faced since we started this game, much thought has been given to it.  Initially Daeley developed the MML's which it sounds like you have installed.  The drawback of these is as you say, you can only plop 1 at a time.

So Daeley went to work again and developed DAMN.  These are so far the best option for menus to date, although as it's a recent development it's not widespread yet.  Work is being done on these, but it's slow going.

Here is a link to the SSPtool thread where you can read about making DAMN files.

As Diggis said, it sounds like you're using the MML Mod for said canals. I suggest to remove the associated MML file temporarily from your plugins folder while you're building your canal system. This can be done at any time without a bad effect on the game. Later, once your canals are ready, add the MML file again, and you'll have more space in the menu again.

Hello Andreas and Diggis,

thank you both for your reply and that you are trying to help me  :)

Now another thing: What is a MML ????

Sorry, this might seem to be a silly question but as already mentioned we are just starting to re- discover the game and are now wondering what possibilities are offered and we ask ourselves what game we played the last 3 or 4 years..... :D

Thanks again to all of you and best regards

Andreas

Usually, the park menu shouldn't auto-close, only the rewards menu does that. But since the MML lots are more or less reward items, this "feature" is replicated. I'm not sure what you have installed, but it sounds a lot like the MML lot for the canals is installed indeed.

I would suggest maybe you should reply in German Andreas, as there appears to be some crossed wires here.
