Hello all,
I am new to this site and not very tech savvy. I have re-installed Simcity 4 Deluxe Edition on my new vista installed laptop (previously had an XP). I'm looking for custom built buildings, such as Sears Tower and such. simcity.ea.com allows me to download, but when I go into the folder it apparently downloaded into...it's not there.  Please Help!!
Thanks

This may be related to a...security feature...Vista has. Occasionally, and seemingly at random, it likes taking files and dumping them into a virtual store folder. The point is to...insert upbeat technical description here...but serves only to utterly baffle people when they first run into it. The virtual store is here:

C:\Users\(Your computer account name here)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore

If your downloaded buildings are here, yay! Problem solved. If not, do a very thorough search for the files to see if they accidentally got dumped somewhere other than where you wanted them.

Not sure its quite related but XP used the "my documents" folder which is called simply "documents" in vista.. so be careful of programs that ASSUME that it is in that folder. You may have to move things now and then

I once discovered where simcity.ea.com dumps the files you download it from. Try searching for the name of the file you downloaded.

I'm sure you already know this, but the downloaded FILE NAME may not be the same as the name of the CUSTOM LOT.. you have to look at the downloader to see the actual file name.
