Thanks for the comments ...

@ Rayden ... coming from you it is a big compliment for me. You have inspired me a lot.

Lol, I could say the same, but really, it's lots like yours that makes the difference, I only put them together the best looking way I can think of ;)

Wonderful using of jeronij's canals and great buildings!

c.p.

Some great stuff here.  I've only just started Shosaloza myself.  Your approach to building cities is so much more creative than mine.
Oh, and what a surprise to see a tribute lot here.  ;D Thanks for that.

The city of Moya ... in quad C4 ... 6,500 Sims.

The city of Moya is mainly a Tourist destination and many Sims have their weekend and holiday homes here in the crisp mountain air. The city is not keen on high density and it is rare to see a residential stand that is deeper than 2 tiles. The vast majority of homes are on single tiles. There is no Industrial zoning and everything is based on commerce.

In the secluded valley in the South Western corner is this Monastry ... during the migrant invasion of the neighbouring Sabensa the monks were forced to arm themselves to protect their lives and property and many bloody battles have taken place in the valley ... today there is peace and calm because Matt Taylor was not shy to take the criminals on. The monastry is now a popular tourist destination and the wines from the adjacent vineyards are very popular.

The Monastry encouraged people to settle on the monastry land and there is a vibrant little community here in this isolated valley.

With the influx of tourists into the valley it offered new opportunities and this lovely Restaurant was built. The view over the valley is breathtaking and the food is top notch. Rumour has it that the monks uses rock pigeons for target practice but that is just a rumour ... the menu clearly states that all game on offer is from captive breeding programs ... who will ever know.

A lovely little community center with a library, clinic and school.

The dam is a popular gathering spot and the "captive" bred salmon is very popular ... however ... residents are urged to avoid eating the fish that glows in the dark.

The dam wall is the pride and joy of the local residents ... after all ... they paid for it.

I will be back soon with more pictures from the city of Moya.

Lovely pictures, Colyn. This looks a calm and peaceful place to live.

A closer look at the dam wall ...

Pure mountain water is channelled into the dam ...

Peace and tranquility ... that is what you pay for.

A popular spot for the locals to get the stuff that is needed to keep their homes in top notch condition.

Here I stopped for a glass of milk and fresh pancakes.

The community gets their dental needs serviced here and there are enough refreshments around to ease their pain after the tune-up.

More places to get refreshments.

Here we had lunch ... a good variety was on offer.

Now I am taking a nap under a tree amd will continue the trip later ...

Some of the really rich people has moved into the lower parts of the valley.

Cape Dutch homes ...

Another neighbourhood ... a lot of widows and unmarried women lives here ... some opportunistic developer target them and this area is patrolled day and night by the community crime watch patrols ... rumours are flying thick and fast but nothing solid has ever been brought to the mayor's office.

This part of town is extremely expensive.

Another lodge ... plenty of good food and friendly companions are some of the specialities of Roan's Rest.

Now I am going to take a shower and get some dinner and then the tour will continue.

The home of Oliver Cromwell is a must see ... and the old man's stories are surely going to keep you wide awake. He also has a mean cellar under that old house ;)

A small commercial development ... some of the local residents twisted Matt's arm and he agreed to allow a little bit of medium density commerce ...

A final look over the valley ...

I will surely come back to this place ... there is just so much to see.

Enjoy it.

PS ... doing this city sfar took me two full days and only 6,500 Sims extra ... I have a lot of work left to reach one million.

Damn, what a dam!  ::)
Very nice little country town. Not a small accomplishment considering how steep the terrain is.  :)

This is the first time that I used Jeroni's plopable tree blocks ... the 2x2 and 3x3 ... extensively and I must say my machine is struggling .... the lag is terrible. If I want to continue expanding this city I will have to bulldoze a lot of them.

Do you imply that by putting trees on lot it is more RAM/CPU useage intensive than using them as god/mayor trees ?

Divide wouanagaine by zero and you will in fact get one...one bad-ass that is - Alek King of SC4

I don't know if it makes a difference ... all I am saying is that I used the plop lots with trees extensively in this city and my machine is struggling.

I think we have to attach an OG to the plop trees so that we can count how many of them we have and look where the lag gets crazy.

I also found that putting a lot of God mode trees also lagged my machine. For Shosaloza I used the trees extensively at the start but later didn't add the trees until I wanted pictures for the MD.

This is a fantastic looking update, I think the billboards in combination with a monastery filled with munks....it must have something to do with demand and supply ::)

sam

Nice update, your landscaping looks very natural. I like jeronij's new canals and how you've used them. Excellent looking waterfalls and dam too.

I find trees also to cause lag. Well props of any kind actually if there are large numbers of them. Also the effects used in waterfalls can cause lag. I used quite a few in mine and that city struggles on my pc. But aren't waterfalls fun to make though?
