History

*Los Armas is small island located in the western pacific norh west of hawaii. It was discovered by spanish galleons sailing in the pacific trade route to the east indies. The Spanish sailors named the island Nuevo Horizonte or New Horizon for it was the only land in the entire ocean horizon they saw for months.
The Spanish landed in 1601 in the mouth of the river and named it curvada because it curved around going to its source which is a fresh water spring lake and they named it Lago Escondido or Hidden Lake. Then in 1611 because of continuous attacks from English and Dutch privateers in the pacific the spaniards established a naval fort in the mouth of the curvada river. It's purpose was to be a base for spanish Privateers to escort spanish galleons and also attack dutch and british vessels. It was also resupply and rest stop for spanish ships sailing across the pacific. The Fort was named Los Armas because it was a naval ammunition and arms depot and also a has a repair dock.

*The Dutch Attack on Los Armas
The island remained secret and hidden and provided good home base for spanish privateers that ambush English and Dutch ships. But it was soon discovered by the Dutch in 1626 and in 1628 the dutch sent an invasion force of 4 ships with 200 soldiers to capture Los Armas. The Fort and Docks at that time housed around 70 people 45 Guardia Civils and 25 sailors and has 2 ships docked in it. On morning of December 15, 1628 the fort tower spotted 4 approaching ships and the spaniards began the fortify the area.
As the dutch came within range they sent 180 men asshore and begun bombarding the fort but the walls were too thick and the cannons we not able to tear it down.
The spaniards countered with their own cannons and sunk 2 Dutch Ships and 4 boats killing 55 of the dutch. There were still 130 of them that landed and as they moved through the beach they were ambushed by the spaniards hidding the woods near the fort killing 20 of them in the intial attack the dutch retaliated and a gun fight ensued 30  spaniards were killed and 55 further for the dutch.
Outnumbered the spanish retreated to the fort the dutch then surrouned it and the 2 remaining ships started bombarding the fort this time it managed to tore a hole in the fort killing 15 men the one ships was then later sunk by the spanish cannon counter fire in the top of the fort.
Then the Dutch then realizing they outnumber the spaniards  more than 2 to 1 launced an offensive and went through the hole. As they enter the spaniards fired killing a lot of the 1st wave of attackers and then hand to hand close quarters combat ensued. They fought room to room for hours. Despite being outnumbered the spaniards managed to kill much of the dutch and only 12 were left and were captured. The one remaining ship escaped and was chased by the spaniards and was sunk in the ocean.

To be continued.....

I like that combined image, although I would recommend the SMP Yellow Pause Thingy Remover and to turn off the UDI icons.

Can't wait to see more.

Quite a densely populated city, not much in terms of green space. Seems you have been able to get a lot into this one city tile; airport, harbour, some kind of racing venue and of course the CBD with all the towers.
The overview shows a grid laid down as the basis for all development. I actually quite like what you have done. :)

Here are some update Buds  :satisfied:

Horizonte Institute of Technology or H.I.T is a private research university located in Los Armas, Horizonte. The Institute maintains a strong emphasis on natural sciences and engineering, and operates and manages the Los Armas Particle Accelerator and Research Experiment Laboratories. H.I.T is a small school with only about 1500 students (about 700 undergraduates and 800 graduate students), but it is ranked top 4 in the world according to top science universities by metrics such as Science Watch.

Academics
1. Engineering and Applied Science
2. Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy
3. Biology
4. Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Below are the H.I.T. academic buildings

Battlecat

Nice job on that HT area.  The particle accelerator is an interesting touch.

Nice start! The sight of the island I like very much. We can see the downtown and we imagine the map of your city. Good luck for the future ...  ;)

Great looking city. I love the high rise core. As Battlecat said, I think the particle accelerator is a nice addition.
