Today we look at the train track doubling and the road tunnel of the N202.

The entire southern ring road adapted to modern requirements. The first phase of the train track doubling De Dieze - Boschelona Central belongs here also to. Only a small portion is actually doubled. Here we look at this update.

After the tunnel under the A26 stops the train track doubling.

The existing bridge over the canal is expanded. The square of the Station De Dieze - South has changed and there is a underground parking garage built.

Here we see the N202, component of the city ring of the De Dieze.

The rail viaduct has been expanded. There is now a aqueduct for the N202 near the canal.

The intersection has also changed. The main road N202, crosses on different level through the tunnel.

The connection to the A9 is a node, which we previously reviewed.

Then we look at the other side of the aqueduct. The N202 was developed with a motorway profile.

That's it for this update, comments are always welcome. And thanks for the responses to the last update!

The underlying road network in the town Nieuw Vennep fills up densely. Each day the traffic stuck on the 2x1 routes the connections to the A4 is a disaster. Research shows that there is much traffic from the A26 (A261) and the A4 coming. This traffic goes via the N264 to the N282. There must be a better connection between these roads.

There are several route investigated:
Option 1: Extend of the N264 to N282. Both roads are carried out with 2x2 lanes.
Option 2: N268 bypass Boxtel widening to 2x2 lanes. With a new connection to the A12.
Option 3: Extend of the N263 as a motorway number A13.

We chose an option with this option we will widening the existing N264 and part of the N260. And the N264 shall be extended to the N282. The other options are eliminated by the negative effects that these give the existing traffic movements.

Meanwhile, the road has been made in this update we look at the part that already existed. The expansion of the N260 and N264.

The new junction with the A4 gets a lot of traffic to process. For this is the parallel track of the motorway expanded to 3 lanes. Between the junction with the A26 (A261) and the connection with the N264.

There was very little space for the new connection. The A4 is half sunken made under the N264.

We are now following the widening N264. The integration of this road in this residential area is highly seriously taked.

There is a tunnel built for the direction N264 - N260. The question is if this was smart, the traffic flows lets see that the tunnel better for the N264 could be built. Left and right you see the N264. Below you see the N260. The N264 is carried out on the right in a narrow 2x2 lane road without segregation.

The N260 is also partly expanded to 2x2 lanes.

Here ends the 2x2 part from the N260.

Above the roundabout is the 2x2 part extended to a busy intersection from the industrial area.

In the next update we look at the new part of the N264 and the connection to the N282.

Thanks for the responses to the previous update, comments are always welcome!

Today we look at part two of the extension of the N264. The N264 has been extended to the N282. The N282 is a major north - south link. The busiest part of the N282 is situated between the A5 and the A12.

The N264 has been extended with 2x2 lanes without lane separation.

A look at the junction with the N282. The N282 has been widened to 2x2 lanes from this junction until the A12. A widening of the whole N282 route is planned.

The bridge over the canal was not carried out in an motorway profile. The rest of the widening part is carried out in a motorway profile.

Several crossings with the underlying road network have expired by the conversion.

And an overview of the widened part of the N282 near the junction with the N264.

Then we will proceed with the section had Ressen. Ressen has been designated as a growth municipality. There is a residential area development at the north side of the A12. A good road network is part of this. The access of this residential area will be done via the N282.

The N282 at Ressen had intersections with traffic lights. These are temporary.

There is still much work to do in the reconstruction of the junction with the A12. This junction shall be converted to a cloverleaf node.

And lastly an overview of the situation at Ressen.

That's it for this update, comments are always welcome.

In this update we look at the new road network of the city Maasvlakte. The expansion of the port and the upgrading of the road network is integral addressed. The project consists of the following components:
- A tunnel for the A1 in the city with 4x2 lanes;
- New route for the A2 outside the city with 2x3 lanes;
- The existing bridge over the canal demolish and construct a aqaduct;
- The Port Road N3, extend to the A2;
- The new railway line (Betuweroute) integrated in the rail network of the port;
- The capacity of the port expand, and get back the largest port in Europe.

An overview of the new situation.

A little note before. I can no longer in the save game of this city. The images that can be seen seem to may not yet finished ...

We start with the A1 tunnel. The A1 had 2x2 lanes and ran straight through the city. This provided a barriare for the city and caused great inconvenience. The tunnel is very spacious with 4x2 lanes are parallel structures.

The Dutch Tunnelwet it is changed, it is now possible to set exits in the tunnel.

Here we see a remnant of the old A2 / N2 that also went through the city. The 2x2 road was connected to the old A2 / N2.

The end of the tunnel and Parallel structure, the A1 will continue with 2x4 lanes.

The junction with the A2. On the right of the picture you see the A1. The trail track that you see is the Betuweroute.

The A2 is from this junction to the A26 been built with 2x3 lanes. The A2 is built on a new route. The old route through the city will be demolished or modified.

Then we look at the A2 on the port side. Here you see also the Betuweroute.

The Port Road N3 extends to the A2. Here we see the junction with the A2.

The structure are parallel to the new aqaduct. The Betuweroute also has a place in aqaduct.

Then we look now at the Harbour Road N3. The intersection with the former N2.

The entire N3 has been built with 2x2 lanes. More images I not have unfortunately.

That's it for this update, comments are always welcome.

Thanks for the responses. I have some pictures of the rail network, and some overviews.

The Betuweroute is the new transport link with Germany. This rail link gets the freight trains away from the regular rail. This new direct connection is better for everyone. Moreover, this creates more capacity on the regular rail for passers trains.

The overviews, on the left side the Betuweroute parallel on the motorway A2. The regular track passes right through the center of town.

The next update we will look at the progress of the Betuweroute.

Great overview of your region!
Also a lot of nice pictures of your wonderful city.  :thumbsup:

Paul 999

The Betuweroute is a double track freight railway from Maasvlakte to Germany.The construction of the Betuweroute has been a prestigious project for the Netherlands, More information about the Betuweroute.

In the last update we have see a part of the Betuweroute at the port of Maasvlakte. We go now continue whit the route.

Maasvlakte North consists mainly of industry. Some large companies are connected directly to the Betuweroute.

Here we can see a yard and a connection to the regular rail track.

The new route of the A2 and the connection to the regular track. The A2 is not yet completely developed with 2x3 lanes.

The Betuweroute runs along the river De Waal. This was the only option, deeper into the country's all built up.

We continue with the yard in the southern part De Dieze. In the next update, we continue with the Betuweroute at De Dieze.

The overviews.

Comments are always welcome!

wallasey

Really enjoying the rail based updates!

The transport improvements to the Port are great!

Paul 999

In this update we will continue with the Betuweroute. This will be the last update of the Betuweroute, the most northern part I still have to build. So today we see the Betuweroute along the big city De Dieze.

Left shows the Betuweroute. Right you can see the A2 and the end of the 2x3 lane part. Plans are being made for this part of the A2 widening to 2x3 lanes.

Again cross the Betuweroute an inland canal.

N619 is built with roundabouts, and room reservation for 2x2 lanes.

The connection of the Betuweroute to regular track.

Again the N619 and N620. viaducts are already built for 2x2 lanes. The connection to the Betuweroute is making a turn.

The junction with the A2, this is a very tight junction. When A2 is expanded this item will also be adjusted.

Here we see the connection to the regular track. Previously sat the train track completely full. The removal of the freight trains provides extra capacity for passengers trains.

Back to the route of the Betuweroute. There is a tunnel built for the Betuweroute. The residents of Empel can go to the river. The Betuweroute is sunken built.

The viaduct the N217. And the end of the sunken part of the Betuweroute.

Overviews.
