Congratulations for OSITM!  &apls

As you mostly show highways, I will allow myself to notice, that on this picture:

on the left side of the photo, there is an entrance. I think you should rebuild it with adding the 4th lane, in order not to have two lanes, colliding each other  :P
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Congrats on getting into OSITM this month!!
&apls
I really like your network layouts recently and I have found myself stopping by a few times to just get a few ideas.
Great work all around!

That is a huge conversion for this junction. The morning and evening traffic has not the same intensity. Therefore it is not necessary to have here two lanes. But maybe I will rebuild this junction.

Map of the never build roads
On the road map you'll see that there are A numbers missing. These are motorways numbers that once planned, but never be built. For the first time, I show this plans in my MD. The reason that the roads are not built, or build one a smaller scale is difficult to say. Some plans were simply not needed. Others were impossible to implement as motorway. Remember that the region is started whit out the RHW-mod.

A small note on the map. The A13 is indicated on the map, but soon there will be a small part be built. The part between the A4 at Boxtel - and the A28 at Ressen. This motorway should not be built because it is a natural area. As part of the rail-link with Belgium has decided to build a tunnel under the natural area inc. a tunnel for the motorway A13. To finance this project will be the A13 a toll road. The local residents and the nature organizations will be involved in the design of this project.

In recent times, the new city Tilburg getting shape. There are about 450,000 inhabitants living. The traffic pressure in the region has increased. For years, there are plans ready to modernize the road network here. The solution is a ring road around Tilburg the N14. De N14 will be in several places connected to the main motorway network. Furthermore, the motorway road network will improved significantly. The junction at De Dieze will be completely rebuilt. Right now this is a cloverleaf. All motorways to the new junction will be reconstructed. The plans are also reflected in the program 30 bottlenecks urgent approach. The following subjects belong to this plans:

- A4 De Dieze - Delfland (2x2 / 2x3 tot 2x4 lanes)
- A7 Delfland - Tilburg (rearrangement of the N7 and conversion to a 2x2 lanes)
- A11 Delfland - Germany (diversion of the N11 and conversion to a 2x2 lanes)
- N14 Ring-road Tilburg (western and southern part 2x2 lanes, eastern part 2x1 lanes)
- A15 Vught - Gestel (bypas on the A4 to the N14 Ring-road south, 2x2 lanes)

But what was the reason for all these plans, are there so many traffic problems? Yes, in this update i will show the current traffic problems and the pressure on the secondary road network.

Current situation N7
We start at the N7 at Hoorn, just outside Tilburg. Previously it was planned that the N7 once would be expanded to A7 whit a 2x2 motorway profile. This does not happens, the current plans are based on a northern location and a completely new route for the A7. The N7 is outdated and have connections that open into a residential area.

The space reservation for a 2x2 profile is clearly visible at the N7.

A very busy intersection, again the room reservation.

The bridge of the N7.

On the other side of the bridge, we arrive at the junction with the A4, A7 and N11. Here must the traffic movement from three lanes back to one lane.

The junction is busy and has has too little capacity.

Current situation on the secondary road network
On the secondary road network traffic congestion is enormous. Congestion and dangerous situations are created. We look at the road section between Haaren and Hoorn. Here will be in the future the N14 - Ring road Tilburg.

Until the next update, where we look at the new junction whit the A4, A7 and A11.

Today we look at a small part of the mega reconstruction project of the northern part of the region. In this update we look at the following completed projects this project were a content of the program 30 bottlenecks urgent approach:
- A4 De Dieze - Delfland (2x2 / 2x3 tot 2x4 lanes)
- A7 Delfland - Tilburg (rearrangement of the N7 and conversion to a 2x2 lanes)
- A11 Delfland - Germany (diversion of the N11 and conversion to a 2x2 lanes)

All new motorways are fully equipped with matrix signs. The matrix signs indicate a maximum speed based on traffic oppressed (dynamic speed limit). This also allows that the maxim speed increment when it is quiet for 100 km/h or 120 km/h to 130 km/h.

Rijswaterstaat - (Minister of infrastructural projects) has started testing a dynamic increase of the maximum speed on certain motorways in the Netherlands. In order to gain experience with a speed increase to 130 km / h begin their experiments. More information about dynamic speed limit on the dutch motorways from Rijkswaterstaat.

A4 De Dieze - Delfland
This section is widened from 2x3 / 2x2 lanes to 2x4 lanes.

By the intersection 2x3 lanes.

The rail viaduct is wide enough for another expansion. For the conversion the viaduct had only 2x2 lanes.

Junction whit the A4, A7 and A11
Then we arrived at the new junction. Previously this was a simple cloverleaf with too little capacity.

The A4 will now turn over in the A7 by the new structure of the node. Left shows the A7, A4 below.

On the other side you'll see left the A4, the A7 above, right the A7 and the A11.

The A11 is located in the sunken box, the A7 can you see on the right.

A11 Delfland - Germany
The A11 is a completely new motorway. Previously traffic used the N11. The N11 runs through the village Delfland. The N11 will soon be demolished.

A7 Delfland - Tilburg
This section of the A7 is a completely new motorway, previously used the traffic the N7. At the bottom of the photograph you can see the bridge of the N7, this is no longer in use.

A7 - De Dieze section North
This part of the A7 has been considerably expanded from 2x3 lanes to 2x5 lanes. There are large urban plans for this area.

A10 Gestel - Tilburg (2x3 lanes to 2x4 lanes)
Today we look at the recent widening A10. The A10 motorway is widened from 2x3 lanes to 2x4 lanes. As part of the Urgent-approach 30 bottlenecks.

The A10 begins at the junction with the A4 and A12.

The junction whit the N14 is preparing for a widening of the N14 to 2x2 lanes.

After this junction, the A10 continues towards to the center of Tilburg. This part is not finished yet and will not be seen at this moment.

That was it, comments are always welcome!

Paul 999

The new ring road of Tilburg the N14 is opened for a few weeks now. The N14 start at the new A7 by Tilburg North. The N14 should release the region of congestion and traffic problems. The aim is make the travel time more reliable. There are not only roads built. There is a lot of money injected into the region tram network. Two new lines were added. Thats connect Tilburg with Vught and Rosmalen. The cost for the N14 and the region tram is 1.2 billion euro.

We start at the junction with the A7. The A7 is a new motorway that was built in a hole near Tilburg. The new A7 will replace the old N7 road whit 2x1 lanes.

The intensities on this part of the N14 are relatively low. Therefore is chosen for floor intersections. This also saves money for the mega project.

Left shows the old N7. The road is completely downgraded to 60 km / h and is have not longer a motorway status. The level crossings are also removed , as you can see here (it has become a roundabout).

From here begins the a motorway profile. And the N14 is carried out with separate level crossings. During the construction of the viaduct is the rail line also widened.

This track has been constructed for the new train station. This station has also a park and ride function.

Then we come to the busy part of the N14. The road authority has made a mistake in the calculations of road intensity on this section. When the RHW-6 / RHW-8 tunnel are available i while widened this section.

The first eco passage of the region! The N14 gowning in a tunnel to safe the nature.

Then we leave the N14, and we continue with the underlaying roads between Haaren and Vught. The new connecting road along Haren. And the region tram to Vught.

The A4, unfortunately the tram can not cross under the viaduct.

Tram/metro/rail and bus station Vught.

That's all for this update, next time we move on to the N14 section south and west.

Nice highways and intersections and congrats to OSITM!!!
