I recently bought a new computer that uses windows 7. Whenever i try to run terraformer on my computer it says that directx cant be loaded because it is being used by another program. But no other programs are open....Can anyone please help me with this or refer me to another thread? Thanks.

Terraformer didn't work on Windows Vista. At all. Perhaps Windows 7 has the same problem. It may not be possible at all to work around this, sadly.

I actually had no problem with terraformer on Vista. Always worked fine.

I can assure all current Wouanagaine programs work under Windows 7 or Vista without doing anything special other than running on Windows Xp compatibility if necessary, except for SC4Mapper, which needs to change the docs folder to something like MyDocuments, it cannot have the name beggining with "U", like User.
I also have SC4Tool and IliveReader working 100%

well im not just making this up...i tried running in the compatiblity mode but the same directx message popped up... ()what()

I believe it requires DirectX 9.0c.. that is downloadable from microsoft.. also I think it needs .NET Framework 2.0 or later (also available from Microsoft)

Hmmm, then was it Directx 10 that terraformer didn't like? I was never able to make terraformer run on my computer, and that may have been the problem.

Do you mind me asking which file to download from Microsofts website? I am pretty sure it's version 9.0c, but the site is pretty confusing as to which one to download. The problem I am having is when I terraform the largest tiles in the region (everything is ok) until I enter region view where I get a weird glitch that looks as if I've added a coast like strip along the bottom of the tile I've added a mountain to. BTW the game seems to work fine for me in Win 7 64 and switching to compatible modes does not fix the issue! Very annoying. Running the Pro version of Win 7. Does anyone here know if DL'ing the xp component of Win 7 Pro helps? Anybody else experiencing said problem?

That sounds like a completely different (and already known) issue if I understand what you are describing. SC4 will not properly render region views for any vertical size larger than 1200 pixels. If your system is using a higher resolution than that you will have to "downsize" it. The situation you describe is not a functional issue (ie the cities still all work properly) but looks rather annoying.
