And now, for another of the random sporadic updates that occur in this less active MD.  It's a new dawn, and I'm stepping up my game!  I cleared a bunch of tiles in an old corner of my region.  The basic idea of my current game-play is building less standalone cities and instead focusing on building cities and regions that span smaller tiles.  I'm currently working on a large coastal city, but it's not ready to show yet.  I was working down the road from my metropolis along a freeway, and I built a fantastic little town that I just had to share.  So without further ado, may I introduce: Jakobsfeld! &apls  Jakobsfeld started as a small farming community, but has grown into a small town complete with most of the necessities of modern life.  You may still see trucks full of hay bales rolling down the highway, and while most are bound for the fields, there is a good chance others are headed to the local library for a lecture on sustainable agriculture, or the yearly film festival.

Fig J001: Jakobsfeld, the sun is about to rise, and the local farmers are getting up for work.

Fig J002: The sun is up, and the birds are chirping.

Fig J003: The local church sits next to the stream and the towns small shopping area.  Klaufnakrampa is not a particularly religious area, but the architectural value of the church and it's function as a public meeting place are undeniable.  It is named Sankt Struwwelpeter ;D

Fig J004: The Jakobsfeld ring was built to divert highway traffic around the city and keep people off main street.  It's been operating for several years now.  The town gets most of its power from wind turbines in the fields.  The multi-level car park is a depot for buses to Klaufnakrampa, approximately a 30 minute ride away.

I'm amazed at how photorealistic some of the wide shots turned out.  Reminds me of the Spessart region of Germany where my grandmother lives, except without the hills.

Jacobsfeld is a nice looking small town, with obviously some ambition judging from the large monument on the edge of town. :)

Lovely town! The way you've done those parks with the creek is just beautiful!  &apls

Also, the ave-2 looks really nice as does the church area. It seems like so many of the best churches for simcity are massive cathedrals and it's nice you found one that looks great and fits the size of your city.

The earlier work here looks nice as well and I apologize for not noticing before  ::)
